Jamie Gazelle’s music comes from his soul.
Whether his lyrics are sweet, soulful or funny, they will touch your heart.

Please consider singer-songwriter Jamie Gazelle when you are booking entertainment for the upcoming season. Jamie’s Americana style takes music back to a simpler place and time when words mattered and touched people. “Music is very powerful and needs to be brought back to its former glory . . . I am trying to put out a message of hope that could make a big difference.” Jamie’s music spans the genres of pop rock and blues with a touch of country.

Jamie was just 11 years old when he discovered that he had a knack for putting words to music and started penning his own songs. He wrote almost 40 songs before he was out of high school. After high school his band “Boss” played proms and clubs and had the opportunity to open for a popular Texas band that drew 3,000 fans.

After college the songster decided it was time to move from the cornfields of Nebraska to a “real music city,” choosing Baltimore (because it was close to Washington, D.C.). About this time Jamie’s wife left him, leaving him with tears and loneliness for his family 3,000 miles away. His unhappiness made for great blues however, and Jamie took full advantage of it. The songs just kept coming, and he wrote over 100 that year.

Things took a turn for the better when Jamie met Kix, an up and comer in the rock ‘n roll scene in Baltimore in the 80s. This is when the song “Chrome Rubber Demon” was written, a song about a car built from scratch parts, a junker that would only go in reverse some of the time, but attracted sexy girls and made for fun times.

Jamie became friends with a newly ordained clergyman who helped him out of his depression. His friend rekindled Jamie’s memories of church camp when he was a boy and reconnected him with the Lord. A few years later “Chrome” and “Jesus Was A Cowboy” were recorded in Nashville.

Jamie will usually find a way to make a song out of every opportunity. Following the tragic events of 9/11 Jamie penned the song “Gross World.”

Jamie lives in Austin, Texas, “The Live Music Capital of the World.” He is an accomplished singer and guitarist who has played in recordings of other artists as well as his own. He is a resilient performer who has overcome several life setbacks. He has written a book, a screenplay and is developing an online music puzzle game. He is all about entertaining. He sums up his philosophy this way: “Dream a dream and live it out until it happens, and never let life get you down.”
